How the world has changed in 50 years! When Choithrams opened in the UAE in 1974, there would be no internet, no Google, no Amazon, no mobile phones for many years. Still, Choithrams kept ahead. So, this year of our anniversary, it was important that shoppers share in our Big 50 celebrations.
That’s how the EVERYONE’S A WINNER WITH CHOITHRAMS campaign was born, and it has been a massive activation.
Ultimately, it was an invitation for customers to shop and spend at any Choithrams store and win the holiday of a lifetime – anywhere in the world. All you had to do was scan a QR code on your receipt, fill in details online and you’d win instantly.
Every day from the 10th of March to the 9th of April, Choithrams gave away hotel and travel vouchers to the value of AED 50 to everyone who spent AED 50 or more. Plus, every participant was automatically be entered into a draw where five lucky shoppers would each win a travel cash voucher to the value of AED10 000 towards their next dream holiday.
We loved the interaction with our customers and broadcast the competition via amongst others, in-store displays and media campaigns, including on all major social media channels. The result was immense participation.
Our supermarkets are the beginning and end of our ability to grow the circle of Choithrams goodness and improve the world. They are still our pledge of service, selection and satisfaction and drive our values, now adapted by the speed of change driving our markets and impacting our consumers.
